‎The Permanent Secretary of Borno State’s Ministry of Transport and Energy, Mohammed Bukar El-Sadiq, has donated essential supplies to Islamic scholars in Malam Fatori town, aiming to support education and improve living conditions in the region.

‎During the donation event in Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, El-Sadiq presented 100 mattresses, 150 mosquito nets, and 90 blankets to local religious leaders. The items are intended to assist scholars who live in modest conditions while pursuing their Islamic studies.

‎“This donation is part of the state government’s broader commitment to supporting education and welfare in remote communities,” El-Sadiq said. “We recognize the critical role these scholars play in nurturing the next generation and promoting social cohesion in Borno State.”

‎Local scholars expressed gratitude for the support, noting the practical impact of the items on their daily lives. “These mosquito nets and blankets will help us focus on our studies without worrying about health and comfort,” said one scholar, who requested anonymity.

‎Malam Fatori, in northeastern Nigeria, has long faced challenges due to security concerns and limited infrastructure. Initiatives like this donation are part of wider efforts to provide relief and reinforce stability in the area.

‎Receiving the donation on behalf of the Islamic scholars were Hon. Jamna Bong, Member representing Abadam at the State Assembly, and Engr. Abubakar Aji, Chairman of Abadam Local Government. Both expressed appreciation for El-Sadiq’s gesture, prayed for his abundant reward, and called on others to emulate his example.

‎The state government also encouraged other officials and organizations to support vulnerable communities, particularly in regions affected by displacement and socio-economic hardship.
