Maiduguri, Nigeria — Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have intensified their onslaught against Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in the North-East, neutralizing over 20 terrorists, arresting several logistics suppliers, and recovering large quantities of arms and ammunition in a series of coordinated operations carried out between August 23 and 30, 2025.
The operations, conducted with close air support from the Air Component and in collaboration with local security outfits, spanned several locations including Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum in Chibok LGA, Mandarari in Konduga LGA, Gajigana in Magumeri LGA, Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura in Mafa LGA.
According to military authorities, troops recovered AK-47 rifles, Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) tubes and bombs, a cache of 7.62mm ammunition, and other logistics items belonging to the insurgents. Several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also safely detonated during the operations.
In a major breakthrough, the troops intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertiliser, allegedly intended for use by terrorists in the production of IEDs.
The sustained offensives, described by the military as “deliberate strangulation efforts,” have continued to restrict terrorists’ freedom of movement and operations, thereby creating a more secure environment for socio-economic activities across the region.
The military high command commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, assuring them of unwavering support to sustain the counter-insurgency campaign.
