To boost troop morale, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), visited Maiduguri, Borno State and paid a working visit.

The Air Force Base in Maiduguri was the destination of Admiral Ogalla's plane's landing on Saturday morning.
The purpose of the visit is to meet with marine personnel at various formations in the state, evaluate their operational readiness, and provide guidance to enhance their effectiveness in combating terrorism.

The CNS's visit is also expected to provide a morale boost to the troops who have been battling the Boko Haram/ISWAP sect for over a decade.
During his trip, Admiral Ogalla will have a meeting with the state governor and pay a visit to wounded troops being treated at the Maimalari Cantonment Hospital in Maiduguri.

This visit follows a suicide bombing on Friday at a crowded fish market in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, northeast Nigeria, where a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber detonated an explosive device, killing 10 people and injuring many others.
