Six farmers and herders were arrested during a clash in Adamawa, Northeast Nigeria.

The Adamawa State Police Command has detained six suspects after fighting between farmers and herders in Waduku, Lamurde Local Government Area, resulting in the injury of one villager and 11 cattle.

International News Syndicate was informed by sources that some herders were accused of trespassing into a rice farm around 4:30 p.m. on April 2 and causing damage to the crops. 

Angry youths from the village attacked the herders in anger, injuring their cattle and wounding a person named Righteous Boti from Nzumoso Village.

The arrested suspects include Rabo Buba, 31, Ahmadu Adamu, 20, Stephen Pwagwadi, 17, Shadrach Simon, 19, Lot Gad, 20, and Righteous Boti, 27.

The scene was visited by security personnel and they held an emergency meeting with local stakeholders to prevent any further escalation of violence.

The injured individuals were treated at the Tingno Primary Health Care Clinic and have since been released.
