The Education Secretary led students to Shehu's Palace for their second-term vacation

Shehu's Palace is the destination for students' third-term vacation as they are escorted by the education secretary.

The Education Secretary of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), Dr. Umar Goni, led pupils/students of the Local Education Authority to Shehu's palace to seek blessings and mark the beginning of their third-term vacation. 

This traditional visit, revived by Dr. Goni, aims to reconnect with the state's forgotten history.
During the visit, Dr. Goni emphasized the importance of reviving past glories and urged students to study diligently during the holiday. He also advised parents to ensure their children's safety and well-being.

On his part, His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-amin Elkanemi, praised the students for their respectfulness, obedience, and kindness.
Additionally, he contributed a small amount of money to the students.

Dr. Umar Goni and his team were commended by the royal father for their efforts in reviving this tradition and the current administration's efforts were called upon to support. 

He announced the resumption date for the third term as 28th April 2025, five weeks from now.

"The significance of collaboration between education and traditional institutions in promoting the well-being and academic success of pupils/students is highlighted by this visit" he said.

In another develooment, the Education Secretary commisioning of two blocks of six classrooms in Gwange III primary school constructed by Abdulkadir Rahis member representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.
During the commissioning event, Fadimatu Ladan, the head teacher of the school, praised the MMC Education Secretary for his tireless effort and support for everyone whenever they needed it.

In an interview, SS3, student from Kulogumna Junior Day Secondary School Fatima Makinta Usman, and Karama Jidda both expressed happiness commended Dr. Umar Goni and Shehu of Borno after when to house to began her five weeks public holiday they will asist their parents with day-to-day activities.

Intelligence sources have informed International News Syndicate that the incident occurred at Kanti Goma Shabiyu, Umarari Ward, on Baga Road, as CJTF personnel affiliated with Sector 10 engaged in an arrest attempt.  The accidental discharge of a firearm by an operative identified as 27-year-old Abba Sidi Mala resulted in an injury to Zainab Usman's head. The security patrol team was quick to respond and rush the victim to the State Specialist Hospital, where her death was confirmed.  Her family was given her remains for burial in accordance with Islamic rites. The hospital has discharged minors who were victims of viral child abuse videos and they are currently recovering well.

On Monday, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the public relations officer of Borno State Command, released an update on the case, which affirmed that the children who were treated cruelly by a couple are now in a stable condition and receiving the required care. The statement indicates that their father, Mr. Goni Murmured, visited the state headquarters, where they were given financial aid by senior police officers. BORNO: In Benishiekh, a man was killed during a tragic dispute over mango farming

BY: ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE, MAIDUGURI The death of a brother and the hospitalization of another have been caused by a dispute between two brothers about mango harvesting in Benishiekh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. According to sources, the incident took place on Tuesday around 9:00 AM when Kajdi Kachalla, 40, and his younger brother, Baba Goni Kachalla, 28, had a physical fight at their mango plantation in Ajari Area, Benishiekh. During the fight, both men used wooden sticks to inflict serious head and mouth injuries on one another.  The police operatives responded quickly and transported them to the General Hospital in Benishiekh.  Kajdi Kachalla has been declared dead, while Baba Goni is still undergoing medical treatment. The deceased's body was later given to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rituals.
