In Maiduguri, a 15-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet from CJTF

On Saturday, a 15-year-old girl was killed in Maiduguri when a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operative strayed off and shot her.

Intelligence sources have informed International News Syndicate that the incident occurred at Kanti Goma Shabiyu, Umarari Ward, on Baga Road, as CJTF personnel affiliated with Sector 10 engaged in an arrest attempt. 

The accidental discharge of a firearm by an operative identified as 27-year-old Abba Sidi Mala resulted in an injury to Zainab Usman's head.
The security patrol team was quick to respond and rush the victim to the State Specialist Hospital, where her death was confirmed. 

Her family was given her remains for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

According to sources, the suspect has been taken into custody by the police, and an investigation is currently taking place to determine the circumstances leading to the accidental release.
