Governor Zulum has donated N300 million to the military foundation

Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has donated N300 million to the non-profit Tributes to our Troops Foundation to aid in the state's war on terrorism.

The assistance is targeted at collaborating with the Defence Headquarters to improve the welfare of the troops, veterans, and families of fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price while serving the country.

The donation was made soon after the foundation celebrated the New Year with the frontline troops in Chobbal, a village along Gubio-Damasak.Enter the description of the image here.

The governor made this announcement on Wednesday during a celebration of 2025 hosted by the foundation for children residing in military barracks, particularly those whose parents are serving in combat or have lost their lives.

The gesture was made to help widows, injured troops, and their families, according to Professor Usman Tar, the Borno State Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, who spoke on behalf of the governor.

In his statement, the commissioner stated that the organization's goals, which include teaching young people various occupational skills for socioeconomic advancement, are in line with the strategic plan of the state government.Enter the description of the image here.

"I would like to share a message from His Excellency Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, who has declared that N300 million will be donated to the Tribute to Our Troops TTOT foundation."

Additionally, Prof. Tar gave N100,000 to four additional youngsters in the barrack and N500,000 to a girl who lost her father. Enter the description of the image here.
The project was first established in partnership with the office of the chief defence staff, with assistance from Try Services, to honour the Nigerian Armed Forces, according to Princess Olivia Ava Adom, the foundation's creator and convener, who expressed gratitude for the cooperation.

'The initiative is to celebrate the armed forces and create more awareness of both serving and falling heroes and, of course, our veterans and show support to their families.

'It's an initiative that trickles down more like a mission work, where we are concerned as an organisation and as a foundation to help us project our armed forces more in a positive light as they are the fabrics holding the nation together.enter image description here

'We aim to sensitise Nigerians and make them understand the need to improve civilian and military relationships.
We are all out to help support the welfare of the troops and to complement the efforts of the military.'

"As a foundation, we made it our mission to speak out to every organisation and individual that the military is part of society because, in reality, they can't do it all alone."

While appreciating the Government of Borno State for the donation, she added that the money will be judiciously used in areas that need to be addressed.

"Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the executive governor of Borno State, has come out very big.

I'm still in shock and feel like I'm dreaming. We think this is a good move, and we'll all sit down with the military authorities and then look at the areas that need to be addressed."

According to her, the people should be made aware of the many things the military is doing through the CDS and other service heads.

The military is doing a lot, as I mentioned before, and we believe it is time for us to start speaking out about it.

Through the Department of Civil Military Corporation, we continue to support the military, but they need to work together; they cannot succeed on their own.

Our work is revolutionary, and the TTOT was the first military foundation.

With the backing of the Chief of Defence Staff and other service chiefs, we will make sure that these funds are used appropriately and without fear or favour.

For comparable events, the TTOT team will travel to Edo, Benue, Jos Plateau, and other states.
