Christmas: COAS, celebrate with troops in Maiduguri

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede celebrated this year’s Christmas with soldiers under Operation Hadin Kai Theatre Command at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, on Wednesday December 25.

Addressing the troops at a Christmas feast on Wednesday in Maiduguri, Olufemi lauded the troops for the recent successes recorded in the Northeast theatre of operation.
Oluyede reitrated the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards enhancing the capacity of the Armed Forces through provision of modern arms, vehicles and equipments to ensure that the war was brought to logical conclusion within shortest possible time.

The COAS said the Christmas lunch with the troops including wounded soldiers, provided a unique opportunity to appreciate the sacrifice, loyalty and camaraderie of the troops in the theatre and other operations across the country.

Also speaking, Governor Babagana Zulum represented by the Secretary to the State Government Bukar Tijjani lauded the effective role of the military in tackling insurgency, and pledged sustain support to the military in the counter insurgency in the region.

The SSG also announced cash support of two million naira to wounded soldiers.
