CAN Visit Shehu of Borno, donates relief materials to Borno flood victims

Speaking at the Shehu's Palace  in Maiduguri on Monday, Vice National President Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Rev Panya Stephen explained that the gesture aligns with the group’s commitment to nation-building by supporting vulnerable people, especially those displaced by disasters.
He said, “The items include 2,000 bags of rice, and other essentials.
“Although this may seem little, we know it will go a long way in cushioning the effects of the flood.”
He also highlighted CAN’s commitment to promoting cultures and traditions of Nigerians.
According to him, CAN has been dedicated to providing humanitarian support to Internally Displaced Persons in many states across the nation.
Responding, His Royal Highness the Shehu of Borno Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi  commended CAN for the donation, urging other organisations to emulate this gesture.
Also speaking, the Flood Committee Chairman Gujinawu expressed gratitude for CAN kindness, stressing that it’s not just about the quantity of items but the spirit behind the gesture.
They also visited Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in Government House to offer support and sympathise the entire people of the state over the 10 September flood disaster.
