A suicide bomber killed two mourners in Borno
A suspected Boko Haram bomber has murdered at least two persons in Borno by detonating explosives near a gathering of mourning.
Yesterday, the bomber slipped into a throng of mourners in Dalori, near Maiduguri, and detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices, killing two and injuring three.
According to International News Syndicate, the people were lamenting the loss of one of them, who had been killed in a Boko Haram attack in the town the day before, when the bomber entered the gathering. The first incident took place on Tuesday and injured two persons.
Nahum Daso, the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), claimed security agencies had restored normalcy in the area.
"The Dalori incident occurred a day after the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) carried out multiple drone attacks on a military location at Wajiroko, a remote area in Damboa Local Government, Borno State".
At around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, several ISWAP terrorists launched a concerted attack on the military position in Wajiroko using various types of guns. Military soldiers in the area first repelled the attack, leaving the terrorists in disarray and forcing them to withdraw.
However, the terrorists returned shortly with multiple drones with locally fabricated grenade to attack the military base. Local sources said five soldiers sustained injuries while a military equipment damaged.
At the time of filed this report the military is yet to officially confirm the attack.
