Damboa Local Government has launched a polio and yellow fever immunization campaign in the council

Speaking at the event open, Hon. Ali Mohammed, the Chairman of Damboa Local Government Area, emphasized the importance of the community placing a high priority on their children's health by guaranteeing they receive immunizations.

He furthermore urged community stakeholders to rally behind the initiative and guarantee adherence to the immunization drive.

He emphasized that the vaccination campaign intends to reach 83,850 children with polio and 70,222 individuals with yellow fever in the Damboa Local Government Area.

According to him, vaccines are vital for safeguarding the community against preventable diseases and ensuring long-term health for the people.

The immunization program was encouraged by Hon. Falmata Babagana Abbas, Supervisory Councilor for Health, to be fully complied with by the community.

Highlight of the event was the symbolic administration of the yellow fever vaccine to the Chairman, his Deputy, and other officials, followed by the polio vaccine administered to children by the Chairman Supervisory Councilor for Health, and other dignitaries.
