Shehu of Dikwa condemns gruesome killing of 20 scavengers

The Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El Kanemi has expressed his sadness over the gruesome killings of over twenty (20) scavengers along Boboshe Village of Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Shehu of Dikwa condemned the gruesome killings by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, while condoling the families of the victims in Dik justwa town Wednesday.
He described the incident as worrisome, but urged the parents and love ones of the affected persons to consider it as ordained by Almighty Allah and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
About thirty (30) persons from Dikwa Local Government have on Monday 6th June, 2022, went out to scavenge for steel and scrap metals popularly known as (Ajaokuta) and unfortunately, they were ambushed by yet to be identified murderers which resulted in the dead of twenty (20) persons, two were injured, while seven (7) people were still missing.
The Shehu of Dikwa presented a token amount to the families of injured ones and appealed to entire Dikwa Community to be security conscious and report any suspicious persons to the security agents.
Meanwhile, security meeting was convened in Dikwa consisting of traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders as well as security agents and have directed that henceforth, no person should go out of the town for any business or venture without the permission of the security personnel
