On arrival at the theatre Command in Maiduguri, Coaker was welcomed by Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Shuaibu Waidi, and senior military officials. Speaking to newsmen after a close door meeting, Coaker expressed his admiration for the military's efforts against insurgents and other security threats in the region. He assured support from the UK government in collaborating to address armed conflict challenges in Nigeria. BY ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE, MAIDUGURI  22 senior military officers in Borno State have been promoted by the Nigerian Army Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai. The event was held at Maimalari Cantonment Officer Mess Maiduguri on Friday. Officers recently promoted by the Nigerian Army were decorated as navy commodores, colonels, and brigadier generals. Of the 22 senior officers who received decorations, seven were promoted to the rank of Brig general, one was promoted from navy captain to commodore, and fourteen were promoted from lieutenant colonels to colonels. "You must prepare yourself and build your names by courage and perseverance in the line of duty," stated the theater commander, who acknowledged the growing security threats in the county. BY EDITOR Jigawa state Governor Malam Umar Namadi has lost his Eldest Son Abdulwahab Namadi. Abdulwahab Namadi died on Thursday in a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin Hausa road on Thursday. The announcement is contained in a statement by Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi”. “He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday, December 26th, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road” The burial rite has taking place in Kafin Hausa town, in accordance with Islamic traditions. A 24 year old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and many siblings.

Yesterday, the bomber slipped into a throng of mourners in Dalori, near Maiduguri, and detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices, killing two and injuring three. According to International News Syndicate, the people were lamenting the loss of one of them, who had been killed in a Boko Haram attack in the town the day before, when the bomber entered the gathering. The first incident took place on Tuesday and injured two persons. Nahum Daso, the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), claimed security agencies had restored normalcy in the area.
