Senior officers are adorned with new ranks by the Army in Maiduguri

22 senior military officers in Borno State have been promoted by the Nigerian Army Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai.
The event was held at Maimalari Cantonment Officer Mess Maiduguri on Friday.
Officers recently promoted by the Nigerian Army were decorated as navy commodores, colonels, and brigadier generals.
Of the 22 senior officers who received decorations, seven were promoted to the rank of Brig general, one was promoted from navy captain to commodore, and fourteen were promoted from lieutenant colonels to colonels.
"You must prepare yourself and build your names by courage and perseverance in the line of duty," stated the theater commander, who acknowledged the growing security threats in the county.
He called on the senior officers to follow the Nigerian Army's strategy wherever they are in order to fulfill their mandate, which is to establish peace and stability in the country.
Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, was also represented by Barrister Mustapha Ali Busuguma, permanent secretary government house, who conveyed the government's gratitude to the State's citizens for the new posts.
The government congratulated the newly appointed senior officers on their new positions and wished them luck in overcoming the State's security obstacles.
