BORLA Congratulates Ali Mamman Shuwa on Appointment as Special Adviser

Borno Radio Listeners Association has extended warm congratulations to Ali Mamman Shuwa following his appointment as Special Adviser to the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The association described the appointment as well-deserved and a testament to Shuwa’s longstanding commitment to the development of journalism and media advocacy in Borno State and beyond.
Chairman of the Association Comrade Jidda Adam made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the office of Ali Mamman Shuwa at Borno Radio Television Corporation (BRTV) in Maiduguri.
Speaking during the visit, Jidda Adam commended Shuwa’s unwavering dedication to the growth of radio broadcasting, community engagement, and professional journalism in the region.
He noted that Shuwa has, over the years, used his platform and experience in the media industry to amplify the voices of ordinary citizens and promote accountability in governance.
“Your appointment did not come to us as a surprise,” Comrade Jidda stated. “You have always been a bridge between the people and the media, and your voice has consistently represented the interests of both the public and the profession. We are confident that you will bring the same passion and commitment to your new role at the national level.” Jidda Adam added
He added that the Borno Radio Listeners Association, which comprises dedicated listeners and advocates of radio broadcasting, especially values Shuwa’s consistent efforts in making radio a tool for enlightenment, education, and social development.
Ali Mamman Shuwa’s appointment is widely seen as a step in the right direction for the NUJ, especially in its efforts to promote inclusivity, professionalism, and representation from all regions of the country.
Responding, Ali Mamman Shuwa expressed gratitude to the association for the visit and the show of solidarity. He described the appointment as a call to greater service and assured the group that he would use his position to further promote the welfare of journalists, strengthen press freedom, and support community media initiatives.
He commended the Borno Radio Listeners Association for its continuous support for local broadcasters and encouraged them to keep advocating for professionalism, ethics, and accountability in media practice.
