An orphanage school in Nigeria's northwest was gutted by fire.

The school section of an IDP camp in Sokoto State experienced a fire outbreak on April 3, 2025, at approximately 1608 hours. 

The school is Jarma UK Academy, which was destroyed by fire in Sokoto State.

Primary 5 and 6, JSS 1, and SS3 classes, as well as the Skills Acquisition Center and male student hostels, suffered damages from the fire. 

Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths reported as a consequence of the inferno. 

The Federal and State Fire Services and other security agencies joined together to respond promptly and extinguished the fire after a prolonged battle.

The cause of the fire has not been figured out, and the value of the property that was lost is still to be determined. 
The investigation is still ongoing.

The Police have taken the suspects into custody.
