Arsenal defeat Madrid, advance to UCL semi-final

BY: ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE

After a 2-1 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Arsenal have reached the Champions League semi-final for the third time in their history and won 5-1 on aggregate.

Bukayo Saka scored a lovely chipped goal in the 65th minute to increase Arsenal's advantage after they won the first leg 3-0.

After Vinicius Junior caught William Saliba napping and cancelled that strike just two minutes later, Madrid cancelled it again, but Gabriel Martinelli scored in second-half stoppage time to seal the victory.

Saka witnessed Thibaut Courtois save a Panenka penalty during the first half as VAR prevented Real Madrid from taking a penalty of their own.

Arsenal will play PSG in the semi-final, while Barcelona will play Inter in the other last-four match.
