In Maiduguri, a man attacked minors with brutal force over mango plucking

An internet video that was disturbing circulated yesterday showed a middle-aged man physically assaulting two minor girls in Borno state.

Askira Close, located next to the Layin Snooker area in Maiduguri, is where the incident took place in Borno's capital.

Sources claim that the two girls, who were wearing their school uniforms, allegedly went to a nearby house to gather mangoes while on their way home from school.

As the girls plead for mercy, the perpetrator, identified as Mamman Sheriff, turned their seemingly harmless adventure into a horrific experience as they were hit with huge dried branches, as shown in the video.

The Ministry for Education, Justice, and security agencies have acted quickly to address the issue and demand justice for what occurred to the girls.

Despite the arrest of the perpetrator, community members are furious over the inhumane action and are actively advocating for a suitable punishment that would be detrimental to others.

Section 355 of the Nigerian Constitution states that any person who unlawfully assaults another and causes him harm is guilty of a felony and can be jailed for three years.
