Abuja police detained a woman for trying to sell her three-year-old son.

A woman was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force FCT Command for allegedly trying to sell her three-year-old son for ₦1.5 million.

Police sources informed International News Syndicate that Hana Yusuf of Kpaduma II Village, who was known to police, asked Isaac Tom to help him in finding a buyer for her child on March 18, 2025.

The request disturbed Tom, prompting him to report the matter to the Asokoro Police Division.
 Police operatives acted quickly to set up a sting operation, with ASP Promise Gandi posing as a potential buyer. 

The suspect was lured to a meeting point, where she was arrested, and the child was safely rescued.

The child, Yusuf Ibrahim, was confirmed by preliminary investigations to be the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mariam Ibrahim of Kpaduma II, Guzape. 

The police have since reunited the boy with his parents while further investigations continue.

The suspect remains in custody and is being interrogated.

BORNO: In Benishiekh, a man was killed during a tragic dispute over mango farming

BY: ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE, MAIDUGURI The death of a brother and the hospitalization of another have been caused by a dispute between two brothers about mango harvesting in Benishiekh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. According to sources, the incident took place on Tuesday around 9:00 AM when Kajdi Kachalla, 40, and his younger brother, Baba Goni Kachalla, 28, had a physical fight at their mango plantation in Ajari Area, Benishiekh. During the fight, both men used wooden sticks to inflict serious head and mouth injuries on one another.  The police operatives responded quickly and transported them to the General Hospital in Benishiekh.  Kajdi Kachalla has been declared dead, while Baba Goni is still undergoing medical treatment. The deceased's body was later given to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rituals.
