A security guard and two others were detained after stealing sewing machines from Maiduguri Skills Centre.

The Borno State Police Command has arrested three suspects, including a security guard, for allegedly stealing 19 sewing machine heads from the Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Center in Maiduguri.

 According to Police Public Relations Officer ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Kaka Modu Mustapha, 34, and two teens, Bukar Mustapha, 16, and Ibrahim Mohammed, 17, were involved in stealing machines on March 22.

As of now, six of the stolen sewing machine heads have been retrieved, and there are still efforts to recover the remaining items.

Once the investigation is complete, the suspects will be taken into police custody and charged in court.

The Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Center is a project that is centered around empowering youth and women by utilizing vocational training.
