The intelligence revealed that Bula Marwa was a meeting site for terrorist leaders at a high-level.

A statement on Monday by Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the Air spokesperson, confirmed heightened terrorist activity during intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions conducted on the location, revealing an influx of motorcycles and gatherings of combatants across the site.

He mentioned that fighter jets were quickly deployed and the location was bombed, resulting in the death of many terrorists.

He said, 'Air strikes killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists at two key locations in Bula Marwa, Borno State.'

After discovering Bula Marwa as a high-level meeting spot for the notorious figures of Boko Haram, ISR missions confirmed that terrorist activity had increased, revealing an increase in motorcycles and gatherings of combatants throughout the site.

“The motorcycles were then traced to a primary meeting location where additional terrorists had been waiting. Effectively engaging the target area was achieved through the execution of the first airstrike.

“Moments later, ISR aircraft loitering in the vicinity observed several terrorists returning to assess the damage and evacuate their wounded combatants. In response, NAF air assets conducted follow-up strikes, neutralizing additional terrorists.

He stated that, building on the success of the initial mission, additional ISR was conducted in the area the same day, identifying another group of terrorists gathering under a large tree at a second meeting site.

Akinboyewa said, “Upon verification, NAF air assets, launched a precision airstrike at this location, achieving a direct hit and neutralising numerous terrorists.

“These air operations struck a significant blow to planned terrorist activities, taking out multiple fighters and demolishing their motorcycles, thereby crippling their ability to launch ambushes or other hostile actions.

This impactful strike highlights the ongoing contributions of the Air Component of Operation Harding Kai in ridding northeastern Nigeria of terrorist activities.

The NAF remains committed to executing its mission with relentless precision, whether in joint or independent operations, to bring an end to terrorism as well as all other threats to the sovereignty and security of our great nation.
