In Northeast Nigeria, Emir of Shani appointed new Jakadiya.

The turbaning ceremony was held at the Emir's Palace in Shani town, with the Emirs of Gwoza and Shellang in Adamawa state in attendance.

She is Hamsatu Musa Gasi.

Others who attended the ceremony include chairman of the Shani Local Government area, Abdu Hassan Labaki, and a member representing Shani at the State Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Inuwa Kubo.

As per the Shani people's tradition, the Palace courtiers performed the turbaning of the new Jakaliya of the Shani Emirate Council.

The emir of Shani and other dignitaries were honoured by the first female who rose on horseback shortly after the turbaning.

Also speaking, Abdullahi Isa Dago, the Amma Shelling, congratulated Hajiya Fatsuma Gasi on her new title of Jakadiyan Shani and urged her to carry out her responsibility diligently.
On his part, the member representing Shani at the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Inuwa Kubo, thanked the Emir of Shani for finding Hajiya Hamsatu Musa Gasi worthy of the title Jakadiya of Shani.

The lawmaker expressed hope that the new Jakadiya would live up to expectations.
