Operation HADIN KAI: COAS Salutes Troop’s Gallantry, Sacrifice

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, commended the troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) for their tireless efforts and significant gains against insurgents in the North East Theater.
He made the commendation during the Sallah lunchoen organized for troops at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Addressing the troops, the COAS noted that the luncheon, usually held during major festive seasons, helps bring the troops together in a celebratory atmosphere to appreciate their sacrifices and commitment to duty.
Represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7 Division and Commander of Sector 1 Operations Hadin Kai, Maj. -Gen. AGL Haruna appreciated the troops for their significant contributions to the collective effort to defeat terror networks and other violent extremist groups that seek to undermine the unity, peace, and security of the nation.
He encouraged the troops to renew their commitment by absorbing the lessons of the season: demonstrating love, hope, healing, and renewed energy.
He lauded the COAS for his dedication to elevating the morale of the soldiers of Operation HADINKAI Kai.
Also speaking, the Theater Commander North East Joint Task Force, Maj.-Gen. Waidi Shuaibu was represented by Deputy Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai Brigadier General Anthony Okpodu urged officers and soldiers to remain steadfast and work together to ensure the safety and security of the nation, including protecting all key national assets and the civilian populace.
He acknowledges the assistance and support that has been given by other security agencies and civil organizations.
