Suspected kidnappers and armed robbers were apprehended by police in Maiduguri

Six suspects who specialize in kidnapping, armed robbery, and extortion have been arrested by the Borno State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Yusuf Mohammed Lawal.


The command's spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, stated today that the six criminals are skilled in imposing taxes on communities to prevent them from carrying out criminal operations.


According to him, the suspects were arrested after the Crack Squad received a credible tip-off and carried out a covert operation in Chingowa Village, Konduga LGA.

He said 'Investigation further revealed that the syndicates responsible for armed robbery and kidnapping in Magumeri and Konduga LGAs, as well as extorting money from villages, purportedly as a tax to spare them from their criminal operation.'


The suspects were arrested in possession of one pump action gun, one life cartridge, and, 2,637,000 cash.

According to him, the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged in court after a discreet investigation.

The Command's commitment to maintaining public safety and security within the state environs is reaffirmed by its Commissioner, CP ML Yusufu.
