JNIM militants have taken over a military position in Eastern Burkina Faso.

BY: RAKIYA BACHIROU AND ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE A military position in Diapaga, Tapoa Province, in Burkina Faso's Eastern Region was captured by armed militants from the al-Qaeda-affiliated group JNIM yesterday. Sources indicate that the attack happened at around 5pm, when the militants overcame the army unit that was stationed in the area. Several weapons were reportedly taken during the assault.    It was reported that several weapons were taken during the assault.  There is no clear estimate of the number of casualties.

A fire engulfs shops in Mai'adua Market, Katsina State

BY: ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE About 180 thatch shops were lost due to a fire outbreak at Mai'adua Market in Mai'adua Local Government Area of Katsina State. Eyewitness told International News Syndicate that the inferno started around 10:30 AM. Firefighters, traders, and residents worked with one another to extinguish the fire before it could spread further. No lives were lost in the incident, which is fortunate. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of damage and determining the cause of the fire.  An investigation is underway to establish the source of the outbreak and evaluate the total value of property lost. The infamous bandit Kachalla Yellow was assassinated in Zamfara

Sources informed International News Syndicate that the terrorist kingpin had a clash with the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, forces, and the vigilante group at approximately 1700 hours in Keita village in Tsafe District of Zamfara State. Three local vigilantes died while 9 bandits were neutralized.
