UK Defense Minister vows to address security threats confronting Nigeria

BY ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE, MAIDUGURI  UK Defense Minister Lord Vernon Coaker pledged to address security threats in the country during his visit to the Theatre Command Northeast Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri. On arrival at the theatre Command in Maiduguri, Coaker was welcomed by Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Shuaibu Waidi, and senior military officials. Speaking to newsmen after a close door meeting, Coaker expressed his admiration for the military's efforts against insurgents and other security threats in the region. He assured support from the UK government in collaborating to address armed conflict challenges in Nigeria. On his part, the Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Waidi Shuaibu expressed gratitude for the minister's visit and pledged to strengthen ties with the UK government. Governor Zulum has donated N300 million to the military foundation

BY ADAMU ALIYU NGULDE, MAIDUGURI  Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has donated N300 million to the non-profit Tributes to our Troops Foundation to aid in the state's war on terrorism. The assistance is targeted at collaborating with the Defence Headquarters to improve the welfare of the troops, veterans, and families of fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price while serving the country. The donation was made soon after the foundation celebrated the New Year with the frontline troops in Chobbal, a village along Gubio-Damasak.Enter the description of the image here.
